DESCRIPTION:Please join MPR AVL at Metro Wines on Wednesday\, June 22 from 4:00-7:00 pm for an adoption and fundraising event!\nIn addition to adoptable pups\, you will be able to meet the iconic winemaker\, Carol Shelton\, and taste her wines “on the house.” The owners of MetroWines will also be donating the dollar total of Carol Shelton wines sold back to our rescue!\n\n\nAbout Carol Shelton:\nCarol Shelton has been Mastering the Zen of Zin since 1978. Focusing mostly on her favorite varietal\, Carol is a guru of single vineyard Zinfandel. She and her husband and business partner have sought out exceptional vineyards throughout California including Dry Creek Valley\, Rockpile\, Russian River Valley\, Mendocino\, and the Cucamonga Valley of Southern California. Many of her vineyard sources are organically grown and decades old!\nCarol Shelton has won Winemaker of the Year five times\, has countless gold medals for her wines and was named one of eight Pioneer Women Winemakers of Sonoma County in 2005. She continues to win awards and accolades\, her 2011 Wild Thing Zinfandel was included in the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2014. With many harvests under her belt and her passion for winemaking still strong\, Carol Shelton has become an iconic woman winemaker.

So why not “Be Like Betty” and come support MPR AVL and maybe take home your next furry friend!\n\nWe will be at Down Dog with adoptable pups and merch and are asking for a $5 donation to attend the event\, which will get you one raffle ticket to win some awesome prizes. This means you will also be a part of a bigger movement known as the “Betty White Challenge”!\n\nWe are also encouraging humans and their animals to dress up like Betty and the best dressed will get a $25 Down Dog gift card and an MPR AVL t-shirt.\n\nHope to see you and in honor of Betty and to you other life savers\, thank you for being a friend!
